Hey! This was really excellent! I started out just intending to skim this one as I did some schoolwork over the Christmas holiday, but each was so informative and engaging that I read the whole thing. Well done!

Merry Christmas, I really enjoyed learning of the history of the Christmas tree. I have the "bright and shiny" Christmas balls, still have the original box they came in. They are my favorite ornaments next to the ones my kids made. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Merry Christmas, Jim, to you and your family! And thanks for the history lesson re: Christmas tree ornaments. I have a wide variety of ornaments, also many from my travels, although it was impossible to buy Christmas ornaments in Turkey or Morocco, two of my favorite places...because they're both predominantly Muslim countries! I have one tree completely covered with fruit and vegetable ornaments - and I let that up year around. And we have a Grinch tree! John and I ordinarily each have our own trees to which we gift each other ornaments. This year, however, because of space constrictions due to the new TV being so wide on the cabinet that would ordinarily hold them, we just have one. We picked mine - and will put a selection of both our ornaments on it. Next year we'll use his. Gotta figure out a solution for using both!

Merry Christmas , Thanks for bringing back memories. After the tree was taken down it went out into the yard to be burned in a barrel. Until then we would pack snow around the base to try and keep Christmas for a few more days.
